Herbert L. Wertz, 90, Trail Creek, Indiana, passed away Thursday, June 13th, 2024, at 3:06 am in Franciscan Health - Michigan City.

 

Private family services will be conducted. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements   

 

He was born April 24th, 1934, in Attica, IN to the late William Harry and Mildred (Redman) Wertz. On June 2nd, 1956, in Gary, IN  married Barbara Hensley who survives in Trail Creek, IN.

 

 Also surviving are a daughter, Kimberly Wertz of Studio City, CA; son, Michael Wertz of Trail Creek, IN; grandchildren, Kelli (Erik) Ciesinski and Elizabeth (Tim Lewis) Linder; great-grandchildren, Declan and Maeve Ciesinski; and his sister, Linda Glorioso of Trail Creek, IN.

 

Herbert was an entrepreneur who owned several businesses including being the co-owner of Uptown Cakery, Michigan City, IN. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who enjoyed automobiles and luncheons with former classmates and his dogs.
