Peter J. Kopczyk Jr., Michigan City,  was born to the late Peter and Lucille (Jozwiak) Kopczyk Sr. in Chicago Illinois.  His Sunrise was on February 22nd, 1938.  His Sun Set was May 31st, 2024, at 7:55 a.m.

 

He leaves behind two sisters, Kathleen O'Brien of Michigan City, IN, and Christina (Jack) Rooze of New Jersey; brother, Michael (Diana) Kopczyk of La Porte, IN; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and his beloved cat Carol.

 

Peter was preceded in death by his parents, Beloved Nephew Travis Michael O’Brien, and his two best friends, his cats Ralph and Norton.
  
Peter was an Army Veteran and worked as a printer for Continental Printing for over 25 years and at the Michigan City Cemeteries as a Sexton.  He loved animals and could always be counted on to help someone in need.

 

A special thank you to his niece, Tara Jean O’Brien, who Peter fondly called “sis”, for her help and loving caregiving in his final days on this earth. 

 

Rest in peace Dear Brother, your work here is done.

 

A private Family Burial took place at St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
