Jeffery Lane Gregory, 64, passed away on Sunday, June 2nd, 2024, at Northwest Health La Porte.

 

Jeff was born on July 20th, 1959, in East Chicago, IN to Ernest and Nova (Daugherty) Gregory.

 

On May 8th, 1981, he married Thomasa Owens who survives. Also surviving are his 3 children, Daniel (Michael) Vincent of Nashville, TN, Stephanie (Patrick Lavery, Jr.) Ortt of Valparaiso, and Jody Gregory of Hamlet; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Kirsti (Steve) Chance; 2 brothers, Dale (Peggy) Gregory and Kevin (Pam) Gregory; as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

 

Jeff worked as a heavy equipment operator for 32 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and watching westerns and outlaw shows. Jeff will be fondly remembered for his storytelling and practical jokes.

 

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. A private family service has taken place.
