Helen Schaible, 88, of LaPorte, Indiana, passed away Thursday, May 16th, 2024, at Brickyard Healthcare, LaPorte, Indiana.

 

She was born March 16th, 1936, in LaPorte, Indiana, the daughter of Walter and Ida Mae (Long) Ott.

 

On May 20th, 1965, in LaPorte, Indiana, she married Richard Schaible. Helen worked at American Rubber where she retired. A lifelong resident of the area, she was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed camping, playing bingo, and sewing.

 

Helen is survived by her children, Willy (Karen) Schaible of LaPorte, Hazel (Mike) McManus of Greenwood, Indiana and Frances Ann (Steven) Lesher of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; eight grandchildren, Alexa, Dominic, Kimberly, Benjamin, Terry, Angela, Kristine, Stefanie and 10 great-grandchildren Caitlin, Cameron, Kylie, Kaden, Jason, Camryn, Lucas, William, Owen and Jayda.

 

Along with her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by her son, Ivan, and her sisters.

 

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN. Cremation has taken place.
