Orlando Avila Armstrong, 57, passed away on Wednesday, May 22nd, 2024, at his home, with family by his side.

 

Orlando was born on February 28th, 1967, on the small island of Terciera in the Azores, Portugal to Earl and Betty (Wilkins) Armstrong.

 

Surviving Orlando are his 3 children, Amanda Beadles of Kingsford Heights, Sarah (Dillon) Schoff of La Porte, and John Van Dusen of Kingsford Heights; granddaughters, Grace and Julia Gidley of Kingsford Heights; sister, Lee Ann (Ronnie) Tindell of Elephant Butte, NM; mother of his children, April Armstrong of Kingsford Heights; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved dog, Barney.

 

Orlando worked many years at Howmet Aerospace in the foundry.  He enjoyed fishing, traveling, visiting the casino, and spending time with his children.  Orlando's family will forever hold fond memories of his love of dancing and his great sense of humor. He was a jokester!

 

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
