Earl K. Mullins, age 90, of Michigan City, IN passed away on Wednesday, May 8th, 2024, at 4:02 am in Franciscan Health - Michigan City.
He was born December 10, 1933, in Pound, VA to the late Willis and Pearlie Mae (Adams) Mullins. On April 21, 1952, Earl married the love of his life Mildred Coots in Whitesburg, Kentucky who preceded him on November 4, 2016.
Earl is survived by his grandchildren: Courtney (Justin) Pippin, Amanda (Kevin) Owens, and Kyrie (Kevin) Hughes; great-grandchildren: Shelby, Savanah and Chelsea Mae Pippin, Jacob, Seth, Leland and Levi Owens, Chloe and Cayden Hughes; and a great-great-grandson, Zayden Bruner. Special friends Betty Bailey and Dave Watkins. Also, many special neighbors rallied around him after the passing of his wife.
He was also preceded in death by two sons, Jeffery and Rodney Mullins; his brother, C. Winston Mullins and his sister, Thelma Jean Mullins.
Earl retired from Josam Mfg. after working almost 45 years as a machinist. He enjoyed fishing and working in his yard. Earl took pride in keeping a well-kept yard. He also loved a good meal and loved to go out to lunch. He was a self-taught musician. He taught himself to play guitar in his late twenties and could play anything by ear. He could play the guitar, banjo, mandolin, and dobro. He had a beautiful voice and everyone will miss listening to him play his music and sing. He was one of the sweetest and most hardworking men, he lived his life for his family. Earl was a member of Harvest Time Church of God. He and his wife devoted their lives to serving the Lord and were a testament of faith.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, May 14th, 2024, at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St. Michigan City, IN with Pastor Joe Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, Tuesday at the funeral chapel.
