Gloria J. Vance

The world mourns the loss of a beloved soul, Gloria J. Vance, who departed from this earthly realm on April 9th, 2024. She was a beacon of light to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Born on October 7th, 1949, in La Porte, IN, Gloria brought immense joy and warmth to the lives she touched.

 

Gloria pursued her passion for nursing and attained an associate’s degree in the field. Her kindness knew no bounds, and her jovial spirit never failed to uplift those around her. Known for her welcoming nature and quick wit, Gloria had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel at ease in her presence.

 

Her interests were as diverse as they were captivating. A devoted Notre Dame football fan, Gloria's enthusiasm for the sport was infectious. She found solace in the tranquility of fishing and took pride in nurturing her garden, tending to her cherished plants and flowers with love. Among her favorite pastimes were engaging in lively games of UNO and dominos, where she shared laughter and created lasting memories with loved ones.

 

Gloria's memory will forever be treasured by her surviving family: Laura (Donald) Harshman (daughter), Clifford (Rayna) Vance (son), Randy (Lorraine) Vance (son), Rodney (Lisa) Vance (son), Kevin Vance (son), Brandi (Markus), Clifford III, Floyd III, Christopher (Jenny), Brittany, Brent (Ashley), Krystle, Katie (grandchildren), Aidyn, Ethyn, Deakyn, Carman, Damien, Milay, Peyton, Ella, and Chloe (great-grandchildren). She is preceded in death by her parents Wilmer and Ann Ames and her brother Jim Ames.

 

A visitation will be held in Gloria's honor on April 15th at Haverstock Funeral Home 602 Maple Ave. La Porte from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 PM. The burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Mill Creek at 12:30 PM.

 

Gloria J. Vance leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness that will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to have known her. In our hearts forevermore, may she rest in eternal peace.
