Mabel Elizabeth Thorp, 75, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 31st, 2024.
Mabel was born on March 5th, 1949, in Salyersville, Kentucky to Noah and Maxie (Rice) Bailey.
On August 31st, 1989, in La Porte, Indiana, she married Terry Thorp who preceded her in death. Surviving are her 3 children, Terry Porter of Royalton, Kentucky, Edison (Toni) Porter of Royalton, Kentucky, and Glenda (Ellis, Jr.) Stacy of Knox; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Charley (Star) Bailey of Salyersville, Kentucky; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Junior and Kenneth Bailey; sisters, Maudie, Betty Ethel, and Thelma.
Mabel worked as a laborer for Kingsley Furniture Company for over 30 years. She was a member of Sawdust Trail Missionary Baptist Church. Mabel liked spending time with family, watching Hallmark movies, and going to her church.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
