Frank Eldon Burnett, Jr.

Frank Eldon Burnett, Jr., 79, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, March 28th, 2024.  He endured over 70 chemo treatments.

 

Frank was born in New Roads, Louisiana on May 22nd, 1944, to Frank and Lillian (Picard) Burnett.

 

On February 14th, 2004 in La Porte, Indiana, he married Osa Nyby who survives. Also surviving are his children, Robert Eldon Burnett of La Porte, Scott Allen Burnett of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, Steven Raymond (Janine) Burnett of La Porte, Derek (Shannon) Lee of Michigan City, David (Stephanie) Lee of Chesterton, Timothy (Hilary) Motta of New Haven, and Thain  Motta of Michigan City; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Roberta Jean (Charles) Baxley; and brother, Owen (Lyn) Freeman.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lonnie Burnett.

 

Frank was a tool & die maker for Huckins Tool & Die.  He retired in 2002.  He enjoyed cooking, fishing, hunting, sports, and watching his grandkids and great-grandkids.  Frank never met a stranger and made everyone laugh.  Most of all, Frank loved his family.

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 4th, 2024, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

 

A time of visitation will be held from 4 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation will take place following the service.
