Alberta Esposito Tolton

Alberta Esposito Tolton, 96, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away on February 7th, 2024 at Northwest Health-La Porte.

 

Alberta was born on October 15th, 1927, in La Porte, Indiana, to Albert and Anna (Swanson) Huff.

 

Surviving are her children, Patricia (David) Tyler of Dripping Springs, Texas, Charles Esposito of San Diego, California, and Julie Essling of La Porte; stepson, Dennis Tolton of Englewood, Florida; stepdaughter, Rebecca Tolton of Indianapolis; 11 grandchildren, Aaron, Colton and Ross Esposito, Sara Brown, Tony Tyler, Andretti and Alexandra Esposito, Kristin Bugnitz, Matthew Piscione, Jenna Moo, and Brandon Piscione; and 9 great-grandchildren, Oliver Esposito, Ashlin and Jayton Brown, Riley Tyler, Milani and Gianni Rogers, Sadie, and Oliver Bugnitz, and Wesley Moo.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Edward Esposito and Richard Tolton; son, John Esposito; 3 brothers, Calvin, Foster, and Arthur Huff; and sister, Ann Huff.

 

Alberta was a realtor and an owner of 3 Coldwell Banker Real Estate Offices by the time she retired.  She volunteered for the La Porte Service League, Friends of the Symphony, Questers, Meals on Wheels, as well as Wesley Ann Circle and the Funeral Dinner Committee at her church.

 

Alberta's cooking skills were second to none and she also had quite the green thumb.  She liked watching Notre Dame, the Bears, and cooking shows, listening to Tony Bennett and Dean Martin, gardening, sewing, and doing crossword puzzles.

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20th, 2024, at First United Methodist Church of La Porte, 1225 Michigan Avenue, La Porte.  Burial will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery, 1367 Pine Lake Avenue, La Porte.

 

A time of visitation will be held from 5 - 8 p.m. on Monday, February 19th, 2024, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 2900 Monroe Street, La Porte.  On Tuesday, visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

 

Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of La Porte, 1225 Michigan Ave., La Porte, IN  46350, or to the donor's choice.
