James M. Rodman

James M. Rodman Jr., 78, of Hanna, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, February 8th, 2024. He was born June 25th, 1945, to James M. Rodman Sr. and Elsa (Hackett Reeg) Rodman.

 

James grew up in La Porte, Indiana where he graduated from La Porte High School and later married Rebecca Arndt in 1980. He served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. James was a Master Woodworker and owned and operated Auto Wood Restoration in Hanna. He meticulously restored classic cars and hot rods from all around the world. He was known internationally for his expertise. His work has been recognized in many well-known publications and shows across the country.

 

Papa was an artist, arborist, and comedian and had a great love for animals.

 

James leaves behind his wife, Rebecca Rodman of Hanna; daughter, Elizabeth (Joe) Serynek of Union Mills, sons, James (Stephanie) Rodman III, of Union Mills, and Blake Rodman of Stevensville, MI; grandchildren, Cameron and Landen Rodman, Lilyana and Carter Serynek; and two sisters, Elena (Ron) Larson of La Porte and Anita Purkal of South Bend.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel in La Porte.

 

A Celebration of James’s life will be held on Sunday, February 18th at 1:00 pm at the V.F.W, 181 McClung Road, La Porte.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to Hanna United Methodist Church.
