Marilyn Ruth Taylor

Marilyn Ruth Taylor, 93, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, January 24th, 2024, at her home.

 

She was born October 27th, 1930, in Laporte, Indiana, the daughter of Orlando Wilson Jones Jr. and Johanna (Studt) Jones.

 

A lifelong resident of the area, Marilyn was a 1948 graduate of  Rolling Prairie High School. She was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of La Porte, where, on March 2, 1952, she married the love of her life, Robert Taylor.  Marilyn, a homemaker, enjoyed gardening, interior design and was an avid bird watcher.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

 

Marilyn is survived by her son, Jon Taylor of Mishawaka, IN; daughter, Christine (Craig) Oldenettel of Carmel, IN; three grandchildren, Brittany (Ryan) Lowe of Seattle, WA, Ashley (Tim) Jamriska of Fishers, IN, Gabby Behr of Carmel, IN; three great-grandchildren, Bremmen, Declan and Charlotte. 

 

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; her twin brother, Orlando Jones, III, and sister, Beverly Krenzke.

 

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN.  Cremation will take place.
