Wanda Lee Harper

Wanda Lee Harper, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on January 29th, 2024, at the age of 68 in La Porte, Indiana. Born on June 30th, 1955, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to the late Ruth Fairfield and Charles Fairfield, Wanda grew to embody the virtues of kindness and generosity that would define her legacy.

Wanda was the beloved wife of the late Sgt. James R. Harper, who preceded her in death. She found joy and purpose in her family, which includes her devoted brothers, Charles Fairfield and Steven (Sonia) Fairfield; her loving daughters, Kasie (Greg) Flores, and Jessica (Ron) Papke; her cherished grandchildren, Sam (Skylar) Sihi, Collin Sihi, Hunter Sihi, and Claire Papke; and her adored great-granddaughter, Scarlett. Wanda's presence as a nurturing matriarch will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to guide them.

Throughout her life, Wanda's nurturing heart found its calling in caring for children. From their infancy through their school years, she was fondly known as "grandma" to all the children she looked after. Her unwavering dedication to the well-being of others was evident in every aspect of her life. She was a pillar of her community, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear to anyone in need.

Those who were fortunate enough to know Wanda will remember her as the epitome of kindness. Her selfless nature was her hallmark, and it shone brightly in her every action. She approached life with a warm smile and an open heart, and her memory will be cherished as a source of light and inspiration.

As we say farewell to Wanda Lee Harper, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the extraordinary life she led. Her memory will be held in the highest regard, and her spirit will forever be woven into the fabric of the lives she enriched. Though she has left this earthly realm, her love will remain a guiding force for all who knew her.
