Lucille F. Wojasinski

Lucille F. Wojasinski, 98, from Michigan City, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024, at 3:11 a.m. in her home.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 26th, 2024, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 1506 Washington Street, Michigan City, Indiana with Rev. Walter Ciesla officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, Indiana is handling arrangements.

 

Lucille, born on January 3rd, 1926, in Chesterton, Indiana, was the youngest of four daughters to Frank and Julia (Janowski) Bechinski. Her birth was assisted by her Grandmother Janowski at their Morgan Street family home. On May 4th, 1945, in Michigan City, Indiana, Lucille married Edward P. Wojasinski. Sadly, Edward passed away on September 18th, 1989. She was also preceded in death by a stillborn infant child; three sisters, Elizabeth Ford, Irene Hutchinson, and Margareth Wojasinski, as well as her sons, Robert, and Edward Wojasinski.

 

She is survived by her three daughters, Mary (Richard) Best of Noblesville, Indiana, Tamara (Douglas) Dible of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Patricia (Michael) Gussman of Michigan City, Indiana, along with her daughter-in-law, Karen Wojasinski; and nieces, Nancy Adrian, Julia Perring, and Connie Gambil. She was a cherished grandmother to 12 and great-grandmother to 14.

 

Known for her devotion to family, Lucille was an active volunteer during her children's school years, a skilled cook, and a passionate gardener with a special love for orchids. She was also a talented seamstress, creating many items for her family. A long-time member of St Stanislaus Kostka Church, she taught Catechism and Tiny Seeds, and was an active member of the St. Stanislaus Rosary Society.

 

Lucille's family extends their gratitude to Dr. Michael Best, Dunes Hospice, and caregivers, Heaven Walker, Marie Przybylinski, and Rachel Tyskie for their compassionate care.
