Robert Wayne Meredith, 80, passed away on Thursday, January 11th, 2024, at Northwest Health-La Porte.

 

Robert was born on June 6th, 1943, in South Bend, IN to Daniel A. and Deema E. Meredith.

 

On August 11th, 1972, in Michigan City, IN, he married the former Judith Newhouse, who survives. Also surviving are his 3 sons, Rob (Nikole) Meredith of La Porte, Doug (Jenn) Meredith of Greeley, CO, and Jim (Kim) Meredith of Breckenheim, Germany; and 2 sisters, Dani (Jim) Imes of Michigan City and Patty (Dick) Walters.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Deema Meredith; and 2 brothers, John (Betty) Meredith and Howard (Hanna) Slayton.

 

Robert was a conductor for many years with Chessie System.  He loved listening to classic rock, watching racing, and fishing. Robert also enjoyed his yearly travels to Jamaica.

 

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
