Sherry Ann (Emigh) Jones

Sherry Ann (Emigh) Jones, 90, of Rolling Prairie, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, December 24th, 2023.  She is now with her beloved, David, both of whom were madly in love with each other.

Sherry was born in La Porte, IN, on February 26th, 1933, to Virgil LeRoy and Ada (McPherson) Emigh.

On October 2nd, 1954, at the Methodist Church in La Porte, Indiana, she married David Clarence Jones who preceded her in death on August 23rd, 2011.  Surviving are her children, Bruce (Bonnie) Jones of Rolling Prairie, Dirk Jones of La Porte, and Rebecca "Becky" (Jeff) Slattman of Defiance, OH; 4 grandchildren, Samuel (Joy) Jones of La Porte, Gabriel (Logan) Slattman of Napoleon, OH, Kelly Jones of Indianapolis, and Quinnlyn Slattman of Round Rock, TX; and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, David; and brother, Theodore "Ted" Emigh.

Sherry graduated from Union Township High School in 1951.  She worked for 13 years at the U.S. Slicing Machine Company and retired as a secretary from the New Prairie United School Corporation after 27 years.  Sherry was affiliated with the Methodist Church.

Sherry loved to read murder mysteries and who-done-its and adored her family and her dogs dearly.  Upon going through her belongings, two large boxes were discovered stuffed full with over 1,000 greeting cards dating back to when she and David became engaged.  Every single anniversary, birthday, get well, thank you, invitation, Christmas, Valentine, Mother's Day, Father's Day, condolence, and any other card ever received by them was in those boxes.  It was an incredible discovery that was filled with many memories of family, friends, and acquaintances through the years.

Sherry will be sorely missed and leaves behind a generous, loving, and humorous spirit that we will always cherish.  We love you Momma.
