Henry Lachowin

Henry Lachowin, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away on December 15th, 2023.

 

Henry was born on July 12th, 1929, in Gary, IN to Paul and Rose (Olenski) Lachowin.

 

On May 14th, 1952, in Valparaiso, IN, he married Marie Landorf who survives. Also surviving Henry are his 2 children, Curtis Henry Lachowin (Jennifer Bewley) of Brooklyn, NY, and Patricia Lee Lang (Kurt Lang) of Westfield, IN; 3 grandchildren, Joshua Jay Reese of Westfield, IN, Jonathan Thomas Reese of Sharpsville, IN, and Jessica Lee Guennel (Tobi Guennel) of Raleigh, NC; 6 great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Grayce, Uri, Dean, Isabelle, and Maisie; brother, Ray Lachowin (Deanna Lachowin) of FL;  several nieces and nephews; as well as granddog, Jackson.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Paul Lachowin; brother, Harry Lachowin; and sister, Vera Hutton.

 

Henry proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He later worked as a master craftsman and farmer.  Henry was a member of the American Legion and NRA.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, target shooting, gardening, and fixing things.  Henry will be fondly remembered for the deep love that he had for his family, especially his wife of 71 years.

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 21st, 2023, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.  Burial with Military Honors will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery.

 

A time of visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
