Vickie Lynn Westphal

Vickie Lynn Westphal, 70, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Sunday, November 19th, 2023, at home.

 

She was born April 21st, 1953, in Michigan City, Indiana, the daughter of Al Westphal and Anna (Jeschke) Westphal.

 

A lifelong resident of the area, Vicki started as a truck driver for the State Hwy Dept, then went to work in other departments. Vickie was a table dealer at Blue Chip Casino and retired from the casino. Because of her love for animals, she would rescue the feral cats at the rest areas and find homes for them. She had many interests, including NASCAR and gambling at the BlueChip Casino. She loved her Bonanza Bar Family, was an avid George Jones fan, and enjoyed watching Sam Elliott in the movie Prancer.

 

Vickie is survived by her niece, Kelly J. Pina of La Porte, IN; sister, Shelly Westphal; niece Riki Starnes; Connie Ferrell and Jeff Shelton.

 

Vickie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dennis Shelton, brother, Clark Hanson, and sister, Shirley Starnes.

 

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Avenue, La Porte, IN. Cremation has been selected. A memorial picnic will take place sometime in the spring per Vicki's wishes. 

 

Memorial donations may be made in her honor to the Fried's Cat Shelter, 509 IN-212 Michigan City, IN 46360.
