Eleanor E. Lilovich

Eleanor E. Lilovich, 94, of La Porte, Indiana passed away peacefully Sunday, November 19th, 2023, at the home of her nephew, Matt Sikorski.

 

Eleanor was born January 8th, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Matthew and Ethel (Ginay) Lilovich. She graduated from Bowen High School in 1948. She worked as a legal secretary in Chicago before moving to LaPorte, Indiana to help her family manage and run the Great Lakes Duck Farm.

 

She was also a member of the Coolspring Farmers Institute and the La Porte County Farm Bureau. Eleanor always had a love of numbers, puzzles, and playing solitaire. She liked to spend time outdoors tending to her flowers. She enjoyed Sudokus, watching Westerns, her favorite sports teams, and she never missed an episode of the Wheel of Fortune.

 

Despite arthritis later in life, Eleanor was proud of her health and stayed active and sharp. At age 94, she became the longest-living member of her family.

 

Eleanor is survived by many loved nieces and nephews and their families including her primary caregivers, Matt and Janet Sikorski and Susan Lilovich. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Virginia Lilovich and Loretta Sikorski; and two brothers, George Lilovich and John Lilovich.

 

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, December 1st, 2023, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.

 

A chapel service and burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 2nd, 2023, at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, 87th. Street and Hamlin Avenue, Evergreen Park, Illinois.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Eleanor’s name to your favorite charity.
