Charles Schoff, 66, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Saturday, November 11th, 2023, at his home.

 

 He was born May 13th, 1957, in La Porte, IN, the son of Lawrence E. and Elaine (Scott) Schoff.

 

Charles was raised in La Porte, but moved to Portland, Oregon for 20 years, returning in 2017. He was a Christian with a deep faith in the Lord. Charles was an avid pool player and played in various leagues. He loved sports, especially the Chicago Cubs and Bears as well as the Oregon Ducks College team. Charles was a very social man with many friends.  His greatest passions, though, were his children and grandchildren.

 

He is survived by children, Shaun A. Schoff of Middlebury, IN, Amber (Kevin) Hall of Coldwater, MI, Jessica (Luke) Sanchez of Gresham, OR; brothers, Gerald (Nancy) Schoff of Westville, IN, Randall Schoff of Kingsford Heights, IN, Ronald (Melinda) Schoff of Michigan City, IN; Aunt Sharon Schoff of La Porte, IN; grandchildren, Audrey and Kevin Hall Jr. of Coldwater and Sky and Krista Sanchez of Gresham; girlfriend and caregiver, Brenda Watkins of La Porte and several nieces and nephews.

 

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Lawrence, Leonard, Douglas, and Michael Schoff; sister Susan Ellis.

 

Charles made the choice to donate his body to IU Health School of Science for medical training. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
