Helen Bailey, 93, passed away Wednesday, October 25th, 2023, at Brickyard Healthcare, Laporte.

 

She was born in Jasonville, IN to Ervin and Tracy (Hadley) Dierdorf.

 

Helen was a member of the Free Methodist Church and served the Lord in many capacities over the years. In 1990 she received her lay minister’s license and conducted Sunday services at area nursing homes. She was employed by Smith Brothers before becoming a mother.

 

After many years as a homemaker, she returned to the workforce on the assembly line at Gateway Industries until her retirement.

 

On Nov. 5th, 1950, she married Donald A Bailey who died in 1997.

 

She was preceded in death by her children Arthur LeRoy, Jesse, Bret, and Erick Bailey, her parents, her brothers (Roy, Paul, Wayne, and James), and her sisters (Louise, Barbara, and Phyllis). Surviving are her children Millicent (Robert) Bearickx, Michigan City, Michael (Janet) Bailey, New Carlisle, and Max (Roberta) Bailey, Bartlesville, OK, 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
