John William Crim, 81, of Union Mills, Indiana, passed away on November 12th, 2023, at his home, where he was surrounded by his family.

 

John was born on July 31st, 1942, in Scottsburg, IN to John and Nellie (Louvell) Crim.

 

On July 10th, 1965, in Crown Point, IN, he married Virginia Nichols who preceded him in death on January 4, 2019.  Surviving are his 4 children, James (Kim) Crim of Lowell, Teresa (John) Parker of Lake Station, Mark (Michelle) Crim of Hebron, and Max (Mary)  Crim of Crown Point; 10 grandchildren, Mark, Nicholas, Jacob, Nathan, Renee, Ashton, Everett, Brooke, Hannah, and Olivia; 4 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 

John was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and siblings.

 

He proudly served in the United States Army National Guard.

 

John was a construction millwright.  He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and farming his property.

 

He was a faithful man of God.  Every morning, John could be found drinking his coffee as he read his Bible.  He chose to have Bibles in various locations, including his truck so that he had access to read at any time.

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 18th, 2023, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. with Pastor John Stalions officiating.  Cremation will follow the service.

 

A time of visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until the start of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
