Irma J. Cizewski

Irma J. Cizewski, a loving, kind, and passionate woman, passed away peacefully on October 1st, 2023, in New Carlisle, Indiana. Born on September 11th, 1939, in La Porte, Indiana, to Richard and Frances (Galko) Arndt, Irma's life was marked by her dedication to her family, her work, and her community.

 

Irma's professional life was characterized by her commitment and hard work. She retired from GTE Telephone Company as a business representative, demonstrating her ability to connect with people and solve problems. She also served as a warranty sales representative at the Whirlpool Corporation, where her dedication and passion were evident. Irma's work ethic was matched by her love for sports. She was an avid softball and bowling enthusiast, and she channeled this passion into coaching girls' softball in La Porte for many years. Her love for the game and her commitment to nurturing young talent left a lasting impact on the community.

 

Irma's life was enriched by her loving family. She is survived by her sons, Marc (Beth) Cizewski and Scott (Lorrie) Cizewski, both of La Porte. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Emily (Tim) Mace, Adam (Tayler Rhoda) Cizewski, Jackson Cizewski, and Evan Cizewski. Irma is also survived by her sisters, Patricia Chambers of La Porte, Deborah (William Bailey) Tharp of Ft. Wayne; and a brother, Richard Jr. (Sandy) Arndt of La Porte. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Irma was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Sandra Scalf.

 

Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 4th, 2023, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana. A private burial will take place at Pine Lake Cemetery, where Irma will be laid to rest. 

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or online at www.stjude.org/donate. This cause was close to Irma's heart, and contributions in her memory will help continue the fight against childhood diseases.
