Donald Eugene Martin, 82, of Kissimmee, Florida, formerly of La Porte, IN, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, September 6th, 2023, surrounded by his family.

 

He was born March 8th, 1941 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Delmar and Gladys (Morrison) Martin.

 

On December 30th, 1959, Donald married his high school sweetheart, Joyce S. Huston. Sadly, she passed away in 2017.

 

Donald graduated from La Porte High School and eventually went to work for Joy Manufacturing in Michigan City, IN. After a long career there, he and Joyce moved to Barrington, IL, where he went to work for Triangle Engineered Products as a plant manager. Donald retired from Triangle in 2001 and he and Joyce moved to Kissimmee, FL, where he currently resided. 

 

Donald leaves behind a son, Dennis (Karen) Martin; a daughter, Denise (Al) Olsen; grandchildren, Christopher (Beth Ingerson) Martin, Michelle (Jordan) Niegos, Kristen (Brett) Randazzo, Steven Shelton and 8 great-grandchildren. 

 

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Avenue, La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends for a viewing on Thursday September 21st, 2023 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 with Pastor Jeff Zigler, officiating.  A private family ceremony will then take place at the graveside in Patton Cemetery.
