Betty Marie Inman

Betty Marie Inman, a beloved resident of Kingsford Heights, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on Tuesday, August 15th, 2023, at Northwest Health - La Porte. Born on March 5th, 1941, Betty was the cherished daughter of Oliver Leo and Ruby Della (Bennett) Cooley. Known for her loving, friendly, and thoughtful nature, Betty's life was a testament to the power of kindness and compassion.

Betty was a devoted mother to her children, LaDonna Hammonds, Connie Obadencio, Robin (Roger) Brewer, and Johnny (Judy) Shepherd. She was a proud grandmother to eleven grandchildren and adored her nineteen great-grandchildren. Betty was the cherished sibling to twelve brothers and sisters and was a much-loved aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, DeWayne Lee Wills; her grandson, Joshua W. Hammonds; her sisters, Rose Ella Jozwiak and Thelma Cooley; and her brother, Gary Wayne Cooley.

For many years, Betty found fulfillment in her work as a laborer at the Mid America--Wiring Harness Plant. She had a zest for life that was evident in her hobbies, which included watching birds, completing puzzles, and playing Bingo. But the joy of Betty's life was found in the time spent with her grandchildren and in the simple act of helping others. Her kindness and generosity of spirit touched all who knew her.
