Nancy Niendorf, 87, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Friday, August 4th, 2023. She was born on December 21st, 1935 in La Porte, Indiana to the late Manuil and Leona (Strzalkowski) Satkoski.

 

Nancy was an Executive Secretary for the Superintendent of the La Porte Community School Corporation. She was also a Clerk at the La Porte County Auditor’s office and a Bookkeeper with the Clerk of the La Porte Circuit Court. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in La Porte, a member of the Senior Center in La Porte where she played bunco.  She traveled by bus visiting many places throughout the country.

 

On May 21st, 1966 Nancy married Louis Niendorf who preceded her in death on February 18th, 1987. Nancy is survived by her son, Dennis (Vicki) Niendorf of La Porte; one granddaughter; and a sister, Catherine Zeman of La Porte.

 

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, August 10th, 2023, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana. A Parish Vigil service will be at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home.

 

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, August 11th, 2023, at Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph Church, 109 C. Street, La Porte, Indiana. Reverend Nate Edquist will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends may gather Friday at the funeral home prior to the Mass.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the La Porte County Animal Shelter, Holy Family Parish, or the American Cancer Society.
