Monica I. Kempf, 89, La Porte, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 26th, 2023 at 5:20 a.m. in Franciscan Health - Michigan City, Indiana.
She has joined her Lord and is welcomed to the Kingdom by her daughter, Kim, and many of her relatives that have passed before her.
A private service will be held at a later date. Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.
She was born August 30th, 1933, in Calumet City, Illinois, to the late Peter and Susanna (Halfman) Huppenthal. On February 2nd, 1952, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, in Michigan City, Indiana, she married David Kempf, who survives. They shared 71 years of cherished memories.
Also surviving are two sons, Wally (Sherri) Kempf and Mark (Yvonne) Kempf; one daughter, Susan (Rob) Kempf; two sisters, Mabel Logman and Margaret Dobeski; son-in-law, Jeff Nash; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents; one daughter, Kimberly Nash; three brothers, Louis, Frank and Harold Huppenthal; and three sisters, Lorraine Beuttner, Anita Ludington and Delores Swendenberg.
