Karen S. Oman, 60, of Michigan City, passed away on Friday, July 14th, 2023 at Franciscan Health Michigan City.

 

Karen was born on June 16th, 1963 in Michigan City, IN, to Sylvester "Sy" and Donna (Stutts) Metts.

 

On January 30th, 1993 in Michigan City, IN, she married Ronnie E. Oman Sr., who survives.  Also surviving Karen are her children, Krystal (Allyssa) Alexander of La Porte and Kurtis (Mariah) Oman Sr. of Michigan City; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great, great-grandchild; mother, Donna Metts of Michigan City; sister, Dayle Kreighbaum of Michigan City; brother, Arthur Metts of Michigan City; stepson, Ronnie (Marie) Oman, Jr of Michigan City; stepdaughter, Shannon (Jamie) Oman of Michigan City; sisters-in-law, Connie Fidnanza of Michigan City, Jenny (Steve) Combs of Michigan City, Kristy Oman-Gilbert of Grovetown, GA, and Cara (Danny) Blackburn of Michigan City; mother-in-law, Penny Oman of Grovetown, GA; Aunt Beverly and Uncle John Parrett; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, family, and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her father, Sy Metts; sister, Sally Metts; nephew, Matthew Dobrodt; uncle, Andrew Metts; and many other family members.

 

Karen worked in the deli at Al's for many years.  She enjoyed planting flowers and walking her dog, Pixie.  Most importantly, Karen enjoyed playing with her grandchildren and accompanying them on their adventures.

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 22nd, 2023 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.  Burial will follow at Hanna Cemetery.

 

A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
