Kenneth Schrimsher, 82, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Thursday July 13th, 2023, at his home.

 

He was born August 15th, 1940, in Truman, Arkansas, the son of Robert Schrimsher and Bessie Ina (Poff) Kellogg.

 

Ken was a true outdoors man. He enjoyed spending time outdoors working on his property. He was an animal lover, and had a special place in his heart for his dogs. Ken served his country with the United States Navy from 1958 with an Honorable Discharge in 1964. He had many friends at the local D.A.V.. He also worked as a plant electrician at Criterion Catalysts for more than 20 years. 

 

He is survived by his brother, John (Nora) Schrimsher of Town of Pines, IN; granddaughter Ronnie (Ryan) Boggs of Michigan City, IN; niece JerriLynn (Mark) Stantz of La Porte, IN; three nephews Johnny Schrimsher, Harold Schrimsher, Greg (Teresa) Kempfer; great-granddaughter, Destiny Boggs, as well as 2 children Deborah and Ken Jr. 

 

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Barbara Kempfer, and nephew, Robert Johnston.

 

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Avenue, La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Saturday, July 22nd from 1 PM until 2 PM. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home at 2 PM with military honors being presented. Cremation has taken place.
