Judith Anne Shepherd, 84, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away peacefully Monday, July 10th, 2023 at Life Care Center in Michigan City, IN.

 

She was born March 15th, 1939 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Claude Shepherd and Angeline (Walsh) Shepherd.

 

A lifelong resident of the NW Indiana area, Judith graduated from La Porte High School. Following high school, she pursued her degree in education. Judith worked as a school teacher for Emerson High School in Gary, IN until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of the St. Peter's Catholic Church, La Porte and the American Association of University Women, La Porte Chapter. Judith enjoyed volunteering at the Independent Cat Society in her free time. 

 

Judith is preceded in death by her parents; her Aunt Martha Berkowski; her sister, Jeanne Pieschala and brother-in-law Casmir Pieschala. 

 

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Avenue, La Porte, IN where visitation will take place from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 17th, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St Peters Catholic Church, La Porte at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 18th, with interment to follow at Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
