Kathleen R. (Wood) Stacy, 81 of Union Mills, IN, formerly from LaCrosse, IN, passed away peacefully on July 8th, 2023 in her home. 

 

She was born on December 5th, 1941, in Blue Island, IL, to the late Robert C. and Ruth E. (Batterman) Dohrman. 

 

Kathleen worked selling Fuller Brush for 8 years locally. She also delivered the LaPorte Herald Argus for 11 years in the southern part of LaPorte County, before becoming a truck driver for 11 years. Kathleen enjoyed being a member of the Maple City Bicycling Club of LaPorte, IN. She enjoyed family, gardening, flowers, her chickens and ducks.

 

On October 25th, 2003, she married Thomas H. Stacy who survives along with her children, Tena Gambrel of LaCrosse, IN, Julie Neiner of Hamlet, IN, Nancy (Joe) Edwards of Walkerton, IN, Donald (Kathy) Wood II of Clayton, AL, Donna Bouaziz of York, PA, step children Sharon Stacy of LaPorte, IN, Steve Stacy of North Liberty, IN, and sisters Betty (Nicholas) Wiarda of Cedar Lake, IN, Barbara Thomas of LaCrosse, IN, 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews.

 

Kathleen was preceded in death by grandchildren, Dusty Neiner, Ella Stacy and great-granddaughter Katie Shoaf.

 

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 14th, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Zion United Church of Christ, 14804 W. 113th Avenue, Dyer, IN, with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. and burial following in the Zion United Church of Christ Cemetery.
