Walter Goodman, 49, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Thursday June 29th, 2023 at his home.

 

He was born May 16th, 1974 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Charles Sr and Beverly (Cooley) Goodman.

 

A lifelong resident of the area, Walter graduated from La Porte High School and had his own business delivering newspapers. He loved music of all kinds but his favorite was Lynyrd Skynyrd. Walter played the drums and guitar and also enjoyed drawing. He was a family guy and he and his grandpa Cooley spent many hours watching the WWF, especially rooting for The Undertaker and Triple H. 

 

On October 1st, 2021, on a beautiful La Porte Beach, Walter married Anna Dynes, with The Honorable Tom Dermody, officiating.

 

He will be greatly missed by those surviving him, including his wife, Anna; his lifelong best friend and twin brother, Charles "Charlie" (Melissa) Goodman of  La Porte; his sister Amanda (Brad) West of Michigan City, IN; nephews, Landon and Argyll; and his aunt Sherry Strieter, with special cousins Dustin Umphrey and Travis Vowels. 

 

Walter is preceded in death by his parents, and his favorite uncle Mark Cooley.

 

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Avenue, LaPorte, IN. A gathering to remember Wally will take place Saturday, July 8th at 12 PM at the 505 S. 700 E Mill Creek, IN. This will be a potluck dinner so bring your memory dish. Cremation taking place.
