Revita Durtineviciute

Revita Durtineviciute, 49, Michigan City, Pottawattamie Park, Indiana, passed away Sunday, June 25th, 2023 at 5:55 p.m. in her home.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:15 a.m., Saturday, July 1st, 2023 at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1005 Moore Road, Long Beach, IN with Rev. Keith McClellan officiating. Visitation will be from 9:15 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the church. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, is handling arrangements.

 

She was born January 23rd,1974, in Kalvarija, Lithuania, to Vitas Durtinevicius and Reda (Vosyliute). On November 20th, 1999, at Notre Dame Catholic Church, in Long Beach, Indiana, she married Evaldas Rudzevicius, who survives. Together they have two beautiful daughters who survive Elena and Aine Rudzevicius both of Michigan City, Pottawattamie Park Indiana. She is preceded in death by her mother, Reda Venckus; maternal grandmother, Elena Vosyliene; and maternal grandfather, Zenonas Vosylius.

 

Revita was a devout member of Notre Dame Catholic Church and St. Ann of the Dunes Catholic Church, Beverly Shores Indiana, where she was a talented pianist and choir director, She gained her education in music from a young age, taking piano lessons. Revita also taught private piano lessons to young children. Revita attended Kauno Conservatory, in Lithuania prior to her coming to the United States in the late 90s. She then attended and earned a Masters in Music at the Conservatory of Music, in Chicago, Illinois. She was a music teacher at Maironio Lituanistine Mokykla in Lemont, Illinois. She also taught at Bishop Noll Institute in Hammond Indiana. Revita was a long term music substitute teacher for Michigan City Area Schools.

 

Revita was very comforting to be around, very generous, and always lit up any room she was in. Revita was an exceptional cook who also deeply cared for her family and friends. She had a passion for traveling, going to the beach, gardening, and was very nurturing to animals including her own cat named Bugs and dog named Milo. She will be remembered for her big heart and her contagious smile. She will be greatly missed by everyone who she touched.
