Frank Browder Jr.

Mr. Frank Browder Jr., 66, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 20th, 2023 at Northwest Health - La Porte.

He was born February 1st, 1957 to Frank Browder Sr. and Nettie (Buchanan) Jackson, in La Porte, IN where he lived most of his life.

Frank was a graduate of the Class of 1976 from La Porte High School where he was a member of the Boys Basketball and Track Teams. Following graduation, he worked for the Whirlpool Corporation and was a member of the UAW for over 35 years until his retirement.

 

On May 19th, 1988, Frank married the love of his life, Beth Anne (Castle) Browder at Greater Harvest Full Gospel Church in La Porte. Together they attended the church where he volunteered as an usher and was a member of the men’s choir. 

 

Frank's love for sports continued in his later years, as he enjoyed shooting hoops with friends in leagues at the Civic Auditorium. He enjoyed music of all types and loved watching sports, especially rooting for the Chicago Cubs, Bears, and of course the Chicago Bulls. 

 

Frank's passion, however, was his family. He loved nothing more than having fun and grilling out with them. He also enjoyed going on long drives around town with his wife, Beth Anne.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Beth Anne, his two daughters, Kalindi (Bill) Edmondson of Nashville, TN, Amanda Browder of Nashville, TN; five Step-daughters, Jaime (Troy Sunderland) Daugherty of La Porte, IN, Kerry (Lupe) Surowiec of La Porte, IN, Shannon Reutebuch of Knox, IN, Kiesha Frazier of Nashville, TN, Toni “Shanel” Grinston of Nashville, TN; two brothers, James (Becky) Browder of La Porte, IN, Mark (Linda) Browder of La Porte, IN; three sisters, Cheryl (Tim) Daniels of La Porte, IN, Regina (John) Fleming of South Bend, IN, Denise (Kenneth) Roberts of Harker Heights, TX; twenty-three grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, and brother Yancy Browder. 


Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Avenue, La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Thursday, June 29th, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:00 PM with Reverend Edward Brown, officiating. Interment will follow at the Patton Cemetery, La Porte, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made in Frank's honor to the family in care of Haverstock Funeral Home.
