He was born November 23th, 1965 in Michigan City, IN to the late Stephen (Susan) Rempala and late Sharon (Schultz) Rempala. On April 1, 2011 in La Porte, IN he married his best friend, Kristine "Krissy" Grantham who preceded him on May 15th, 2020.

Surviving are his sister, Julia Rempala of Michigan City, IN; step-brother, Brian (Michelle) Sadowski and step-sisters, Bria Iuliano-Johnson (Carl) and Kimberly Heinz (Cary) of Michigan City, IN; and several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.

Mike was a control room operator at Cleveland Cliffs for 27 years. He was an Indianapolis Colts fan who enjoyed hanging out with his friends and family. His humor and wit were unmatched. If you were around Mike, you were likely being amused (or abused) by his jokes.  He also enjoyed watching movies and recommending bad movies to his friends, just to be funny. He often took short walks or just enjoyed the outdoors. He had a soft heart for cats, including his 18 year old feline friend, Maisy, who survives and is now with a new forever home. Mike really enjoyed listening to music and had some of the best dance moves, often challenging others to dance offs.  Stories of his humor and goofiness will be talked about for many years to come by all who were lucky enough to know him.

Contributions may be made to Fried's Cat Shelter, Inc., 509 U.S. HWY 212, Michigan City, IN 46360.
