Louise McClure, 78, of LaPorte, IN, affectionately known as Booty, passed away on Saturday June 17th, 2023, at Northwest Health Hospital LaPorte, IN.

 

She was born January 12th, 1945, in Gary, IN, the daughter of Laura and Eugene McClure of Chesterton, IN. She graduated from Chesterton High School in ’63 and St. Theresa College, Winona, MN in ’67 and soon after earned her private pilot license. Booty was a lifelong Girl Scout having gone to Senior Round Up during High School and subsequently making it her professional career for over 25 years. Starting in Council Bluffs, Iowa, moving to Minneapolis, MN, then returning to Northwest Indiana where she supervised camps Red Mill and Tepicon; ending her career as Director of Girl Scouts Lake County Indiana. She had a passion for Native American Indian Life, building a replica Pawnee Indian Earthlodge and a Sioux Indian TIPI on the family farm in LaPorte, Indiana.

 

Booty is survived by her son Matthew of LaPorte, Indiana; four grandchildren; Courtnye (Charlie), Gena, Kiley, and Kathryn; six siblings, Laura Jean Kadelak of Merrillville, IN, Michael McClure of Greensboro, GA, Mary Margaret Greeley of Orlando, FL, Jim McClure and Tom McClure both of bLaPorte, IN and Joanne Perri of Port Charlotte, FL. and 5 nieces and 9 nephews. 

 

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 24th, 2023, at Frank L Kesse Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, LaPorte, Indiana. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 10:00 a.m.
