Diana Lynn (McMurray) Lundell

Diana Lynn (McMurray) Lundell, a passionate, intelligent, and courageous woman, passed away on June 15th, 2023, in Michigan City, Indiana, after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer's. Born on March 3th, 1951, in La Porte, Indiana, Diana was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many with her kindness and unwavering spirit.

 

Diana married the love of her life, Alan Lundell, on October 27th, 1973, and together they built a beautiful family that includes their daughter, Alaina "Ali" (Steve) Butiste of Noblesville, Indiana, and son, Matthew (Sarah) Lundell of New Carlisle, Indiana. Diana was a devoted grandmother to her five grandchildren, Brady, Claire, Mabel, Lucy, and Hawken, who brought immense joy and laughter to her life.

 

Diana is survived by her husband, Alan, her children and grandchildren, her siblings, Linda (Phil) Colborn of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, and Jeffrey McMurray of N. Judson, Indiana, and a sister-in-law, Kathy (Dan) (McMurray) Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Emily (Krol) McMurray, and her brother, Jack McMurray.

 

Throughout her life, Diana was dedicated to her career in the healthcare industry. She served as Medical Records Director with South Shore Hospital in Chicago, La Porte Hospital, and Franciscan Health St. Anthonys in Crown Point. In addition to her work in medical records, Diana also owned A.D.J. Physicians Billing Practice and served as the  Director at La Porte Regional Physicians Network where she applied her intelligence and expertise to help physicians navigate the complexities of billing and reimbursement.

 

Diana was an active member of her community and her faith. She was a proud member of Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph Church in La Porte, where she found solace and strength in her spiritual journey.         

 

Diana's courage and resilience in the face of her Alzheimer's diagnosis were a testament to her character. She faced her illness with grace and determination, never allowing it to define her or dampen her spirit. Her strength and positivity were an inspiration to her family and friends, who will remember her as a woman who faced life's challenges with unwavering courage and a smile on her face.

 

As we say goodbye to Diana Lynn (McMurray) Lundell, we celebrate her life and the impact she had on those around her. Her memory will be cherished by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Rest in peace, Diana, and may your spirit continue to inspire and uplift those who love you.

 

Diana’s family would like to thank Trail Creek Memory Care and Dunes Hospice for the exceptional care they provided. 

 

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, June 18th, 2023, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana. 

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday, June 19, 2023, at Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph Church, 109 C. Street, La Porte, Indiana.  Family and friends may visit on Monday from 10 a.m to 11:15 a.m prior to the Mass at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Patton Cemetery.
