Robert Alan Dunham

Robert Alan Dunham, a kind and devoted father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 13th, 2023, in Mishawaka, Indiana, just two days shy of his 68th birthday. Born on June 15th, 1955, in La Porte, Indiana, Robert was the son of Marilyn (Striegel) Dunham and the late Fredrick Dunham.

 

Robert is survived by his loving family, including his daughters, Bobbi Dunham and Britney Dunham, both of La Porte; his mother, Marilyn Dunham, also of La Porte; and his grandchildren, Joshua Sandy, Norah Bass, and Dylan Hunsberger. He is also survived by his sisters, Dale (Derwin) Ratzlaff of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Christy (Bill) Facciponti of Nazareth, Pennsylvania, and a brother, Brian (Jamie) Dunham of La Porte. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Fredrick Dunham, and a brother, Eric Dunham.

 

In addition to his immediate family, Robert is survived by his longtime companion, Julie Perez, and her children, Thomas (Amy) Perez and Sandra (Andrew) Fisher, and their children, Elaina, Garrett, Mia, and Severiano. Robert's extended family was a source of great joy and pride for him, and he cherished the time he spent with them.

 

Robert retired as a mechanic from Alfa Baking, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his craft. 

 

A proud member of the Polish Falcons Nest 564 in La Porte, the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2439 in La Porte, and the V.F.W. in La Porte. He enjoyed the camaraderie and fellowship he found in these organizations and was always willing to contribute his time and talents to their various projects and events. He was an avid Cubs fan and loved taking his daughters to games.

 

Robert's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, but his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched with his kindness and love. His family and friends will cherish the time they spent with him and will forever be grateful for the impact he had on their lives.

 

As we say goodbye to Robert Alan Dunham, let us remember the love, laughter, and joy he brought into our lives. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.  A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 17th, 2023, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.  Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. prior to the celebration of life in the funeral home. All times are C.S.T.
