Jean Rae Humbers, 79, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Sunday, June 4th, 2023 at 2:54 p.m. in VNA Hospice Center, Valparaiso, Indiana.

 

A private graveside service will be held in Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington Street, Michigan City, Indiana is handling arrangements.  

 

She was born November 16th, 1943, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late Albert and Katherine (Johnson) Hinchman. On November 16th, 1963 at St. Luke United Lutheran Church, in Michigan City, Indiana, she married Bobbie Humbers, who preceded her in death July 24th, 2006.

 

Surviving are one daughter, Ann (Steven) Bogart of Michigan City, Indiana; one son, David (Jill) Humbers of La Porte, Indiana; companion of 14 years, Don Snyder of Allentown, PA; sister, Katherine Fritz of Michigan City, Indiana; four grandchildren, Dylan Bogart, Ella Bogart, Elliot Bogart, and Albert Humbers; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Jean was a life-long member of St. Luke United Lutheran Church, Michigan City and a member of the Michigan City Senior Center, visiting regularly to play cards and dominoes.

 

Contributions may be made to St. Luke United Lutheran Church, 2000 E. Coolspring Avenue, Michigan City, Indiana 46360 in remembrance of Jean Rae Humbers.
