Gladys E. Stone

Gladys E. Stone, 94, of Knox, passed away on Sunday, May 28th, 2023 at Miller's Health and Rehab.

 

Gladys was born on May 2nd, 1929 in Kennett, MO, to Doss and Arzettie (Morgan) Lawson.

 

On January 17th, 1948 in Piggott, Arkansas, she married Thomas W. Stone, who preceded her in death.  Surviving Gladys are her children, Cathy Baxley of La Porte and Donald "Skip" Stone of Knox; 5 grandchildren, Robert Baxley II, Tina Cunningham, Dawn Ortega, Dewey Dale, and Jeff Glancy; 8 great-grandchildren, Brittany Baxley, Robert Baxley III, Taylor Stone, Trevor Cunningham, Kayla Ortega, Kailee May Buczek, Dakota Glancy, and Jeff Glancy Jr; great, great-granddaughter, Emirsyn Baxley; siblings, Dallas (Patty) Lawson of New Carlisle, Wanda Battles of Gobbler, MO, and Mildred West of Memphis, TN; friend, Robert Lanning; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded by her parents; husband, Thomas W. Stone; daughter, Carolyn S. Glancy; brothers, Bernie Lawson and John Lawson; and sister, Edna Laster.

 

Gladys was a homemaker.  She enjoyed attending church and spending time with her family.

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7th, 2023 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Ernie Milton officiating.  Burial will follow at Kingsbury Cemetery.

 

A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. 

 

Gladys' family would like to thank the staff at Traditions Hospice and Miller's Health and Rehab for the care provided to Gladys. A very special thank you to Diane Kendall, Judy Jones, Rose Banghart, Ella Dorsett, and Mary O'Quinn.
