Judy Van Sickle

Judy Van Sickle, 68, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Monday May 8th, 2023 at Northwest Health - La Porte.

 

She was born August 28th, 1954 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Charles Klement and Thelma (Hix) Klement.

 

A lifelong resident of the area, Judy attended La Porte High School and was a member of the class of 1973. She worked as an assembler at Howmet for 18 years and 5 years at Whirlpool before finally retiring. On July 14th,1972, at Grace Baptist in La Porte, Judy married Norman Van Sickle, who survives. Together they enjoyed dancing, taking road trips to places like Nashville, where they attended CMT Fest, and going to casinos to play the slots. In her spare time, Judy loved reading, watching reality and food network TV, collecting turtles, and feeding and admiring the birds and other wildlife at her home.  As a member of the Polish Roman Catholic Union, Judy was the office manager and part time bartender. She was a very social person who was happy to host holiday gatherings and spend precious time with her family and friends.

 

Along with her husband of 50 years, Judy is also survived by her daughter, Amy (Thomas) Baucom of Westville, IN; two sons, Eric (Temple Fraze) Van Sickle of La Porte, IN, Adam Van Sickle of La Porte, IN; two brothers, Roger Klement of La Porte, IN, Doug Klement of La Porte, IN; sister-in-law, Darlene Klement of La Porte, IN; three grandchildren, Savannah Culp, Taylor Culp and Ember Van Sickle, and a large extended family.

 

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Randy Klement.

 

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Avenue, LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends for a visitation on Tuesday, May 16th, 2023 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, May 17th, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will take place.  A celebration of life party will be held on Saturday May 20th, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the PRCU, La Porte.
