Clara Ellen Schrader, 98, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Sunday, May 7th, 2023 at Settler's Place in La Porte, IN.

 

She was born March 15th, 1925 in Berrien County, Michigan the daughter of Isaac and Pearl (Wideman) Voorhees.

 

A resident of the area for over seventy years, Clara lived a very simple life. At only 18-years-old she worked at Allis Chalmers in La Porte building tanks. She enjoyed fishing in her free time and most of all caring for her dog Shadow. 

 

She is survived by her three sons, James Glenn of Fish Lake, IN, Marion Glenn of La Porte, IN, William (Juanita) Glenn Jr. of Kingsford Heights, IN; six grandchildren, many great-children and few nieces and nephews.  

 

Clara was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, William Glenn, and second husband, Edward Schrader .

 

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Avenue, La Porte, IN. An immediate burial will be held at Patton Cemetery, Wednesday May 10th, 2023 at 9:00 a.m.
