Richard "Pikey" Roy Hahn

Richard "Pikey" Roy Hahn, 92, passed away on Thursday, May 4th, 2023 at Brickyard Healthcare- Terrace Care Center in La Porte.

 

Richard was born on April 25th, 1931 in Michigan City, IN, to Raymond and Clara (Ludwin) Hahn.

 

On January 10th, 1953 at St. John's Church in Michigan City, he married Barbara J. Rohde who survives.  Also surviving are his children, Cathy (Barnett) Snapp of Michigan City, Jennifer Biggs of La Porte, Debi Studtman of Michigan City, Thomas (Patty) Hahn of Michigan City; sister-in-laws, Beverly Milcarek of Michigan City and Dolores Hahn of Michigan City; 8 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Raymond R. "Mose" Hahn, Jr. and Barbara Hancock, Alvin "Jake" Hahn; father-in-law, George H. (Clara) Rohde; sister-in-law, Stella A. Hahn; brother-in-laws, LeRoy Hancock, George A. (Karen) Rohde, Carl Milarek, and Lawrence (Marjorie) Gratenthaler; son-in-law, Larry A. Biggs.

 

Richard was a proud Army veteran having served in the Korean War Conflict.  He drove truck for several years and retired from Marquette Mall.  Richard was a member of the Moose Lodge #980, VFW #2536, and Skwiat Post #451.  He enjoyed playing 16" softball, bowling, golfing and horseshoes.

 

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. A private family service will take place at a later date.
