Donna Charlene Brown, 84, passed away on Tuesday, April 25th, 2023 at her home, surrounded by those who dearly loved her.

 

Donna was born on December 21th, 1938 in Syracuse, NY, to George and Lucille (Donaldson) Tripp.

 

On July 8th, 1961 in Onondaga Hill, NY, she married Donald Leonard Brown, who survives.  Also surviving are her children, Deborah (Paul) Tuszynski of New Carlisle, Diana Brown of Valparaiso, and Dennis Brown of Pleasant Prairie, WI; 4 grandsons, Alexander, Joseph, Luke, and Jacob Tuszynski of New Carlisle; 2 granddaughters, Torianna and Chloe Brown of Kenosha, WI; as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Linda Tripp and Carol Sorrendino; and brother, Lynn E. Tripp.

 

Donna graduated with a BA in Education from New York State University in Plattsburgh and later achieved her Master in Education from the University of Connecticut.

 

She was an elementary school teacher for 7 years at Robert J. O'Brien School in East Hartford, CT.  Following her 7 years, Donna was blessed to be a stay-at-home mom and developed her own childcare business.  Later, Donna worked as a preschool teacher for Nyloncraft and the YMCA.   She also became a Director of Childcare at an Elkhart learning center.

 

She enjoyed playing cards and BINGO, as well as knitting and sewing.  Donna was an avid reader.  Most importantly, Donna dearly loved her family and was honored to be able to follow her grandchildren's activities and accomplishments.

 

Donna will be greatly missed by her family and friends. 

 

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.  A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will take place at a later date.
