Marcia Ruminski

Marcia Ruminski, 77, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Sunday, April 16th, 2023, at her home. She was born March 10th, 1946, to the late Paul and Eleanora Fry) Johnson.

On May 9th, 1969, she married Mike Ruminski who preceded her in death on December, 30th, 2021.

She was a loving Mom, Sister, Grandma, and friend. She would help anyone she could, and loved to talk to anyone who would listen. She was known to so many as Mom and Grandma. As her kids grew up everyone knew Marcia’s house was the place to hang out. She always loved to have a house full of kids. She was an “adopted” Mom to many. She enjoyed bowling and was involved in YABA for many years. On Saturday nights she would run the jackpots for the leagues that her late Husband and sons bowled in many years ago. She was a graduate of the class of 1964 from La Porte High school and a member of the Faith Baptist Church in La Porte.

In her later years, she enjoyed sitting on the porch and waving at all the vehicles as they drove past, and striking up conversations with the neighbors in our neighborhood who would walk by. She even would talk to the birds and they actually talked back to her. She will be missed by so many.

She is survived by her children Jason (Cindy) Ruminski, Karl (Kristy) Ruminski, and Kathy (GL) Phillips; Grandchildren Kyle Ruminski, Brenna (Scott) Klosowski, Connor Nelson, Ella Phillips, Luke Ruminski, and Gabby Phillips; 2 Great Granddaughters Emery and Nora; and a soon to be Great Grandson. Brother Murray (Joan) Johnson and her Sister Laura Hill. She will also be missed by our cat, Tigger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Mike, and her sister Cheryl Barber.

Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. Monday, April 24th, 2023, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana. A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. in the funeral home. Pastor Eddie Heavner will officiate.
