Jeannette Ann Washluske

Jeannette Ann (Ditto) Washluske, 80, of Rolling Prairie, peacefully passed away at Franciscan Health Michigan City on Saturday, December 24th, 2022, surrounded by her family.

Jeannette was born May 23rd, 1942, in Michigan City, IN, to the late Robert Overton Ditto, Jr. and Eileen Mary (Hasemeyer) Ditto. On April 14th, 1961, she married Wayne Washluske in Michigan City, IN.  Together they had three daughters, Jeannine Porod of Cottage Grove, MN, Karyn (Art) Schuck of Rolling Prairie, IN, and Leslie (Eliazar) Fonseca of Cottage Grove, MN. She was a wonderful wife, caring mother, and doting grandmother to her grandchildren, Christian (Kelly), Stephanie, Heidi Porod, Haley and August Schuck, Brendan Santana, and Preston and Brooklyn Fonseca. She leaves behind three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister, Shirlene Feldmeier; and brother, David Ditto. Preceeding her in death were her sister, Frances Zurek; and granddaughter, Anneliese Porod.

Jeannette played golf with her friends in several leagues throughout her life. She loved garage sales, going to casinos, and played a mean hand of cards. Jeannette was an avid lover of animals, having raised and shown Golden Retrievers. She completed many families with her "Goldens" and was very excited to have sold Oprah Winfrey two of her puppies. Jeannette spent years working on the sets of several John Hancock movies and had small roles in a few of them. While a resident of Indiana for most of her life, she did spend several years living in Cottage Grove, MN, near her two daughters and four grandchildren. However, Indiana and Rolling Prairie was "home", which she returned to just fourteen months ago.

In July 2022, she rescued Sophie, a Lhasa Apso mix. Sophie will continue to live the good life with her husband, Wayne.  To honor where Jeannette and Sophie were lucky to meet, the family requests any memorial contributions be made to Michiana Humane Society, 722 Indiana Highway 212, Michigan City, IN 46360.
