Charles E. Kutch

Charles E. Kutch, 79, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 9:50 am in Indiana Veteran's Home, West Lafayette, IN.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, December 2, 2022 at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, 606 S. Woodland Ave., Michigan City, IN with  Rev. David Kime officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, Friday at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church Legacy Center, The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.

    

He was born July 15, 1943 in Michigan City, IN to the late Paul and Irene (Levendoski) Kutch. On April 29, 1961 in Michigan City, IN he married Kathryn Zonyk who preceded him on December 24, 2010.

 

Surviving are two daughters, Deborah (Stephen) Smiertelny of Michigan City, IN and Jennifer (John) Davis of Mill Creek, IN; two sons, Jeffry (Mary Jane) Kutch of Avon, IN and Bruce (Jody) Kutch of La Porte, IN; eleven grandchildren, Todd (Michael), Kristen (Brad), Jason (Katie), Joshua (Lexi), Jessica (Jackie), Michael (Tara), Stephanie (David), Brody (Elly), Jonathan, Cody and Charles; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Charmaine (Larry) McEwan of Westville, IN and Yvonne Kutch of WV; three brothers, Richard (Eileen) Kutch of Battle Ground, WA, Edward (Kristy) Kutch of Michigan City, IN and Thomas  Kutch of Owatanna, MN; and his sister-in-law, Mary Joanna Cristman of Kalama, Wa.

 

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Leonard Kutch.   

 

Charles retired as a metallurgist at U.S. Steel and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was a member of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, Michigan City, IN and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, La Porte, IN, Moose Family Center 980 and the American Legion John Franklin Miller Post 37. Charles enjoyed boating, camping and fishing. He also played the piano and organ.
