James Arthur "Kopper"  Kopchinski, 75, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Friday, November 18, 2022 at 2:15 pm in son's home in Valparaiso, IN.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with  Rev. David Kime officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, Saturday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.    

He was born September 18, 1947 in Michigan City, IN to the late Clement and Patranella (Miller) Kopchinski. 

 

Surviving are his son, Gavin (Corrine) Kopchinski of Valparaiso, IN; two grandchildren, Lillian Kopchinski and Quinn Kopchinski; and two sisters, Georgia Slabaugh of Elkhart, IN, and Suzanne Kopchinski of Michigan City, IN. 

 

Kopper was an auto body technician at Swartzlander Motors and Nielson Automotive Group and a U.S. Army Veteran of Vietnam. He was a member of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church. and was an avid auto body technician who was passionate about building street rods.
