Barbara Mrozek, 77, of New Buffalo, Michigan, passed away Tuesday November 1, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.

 

She was born October 20, 1945 in Hammond, Indiana, the daughter of William Kabowski and Hazel (Armstrong) Kabowski.

 

Barbara was a person who enjoyed life to the fullest. She was a pretty good bowler, having bowled with her mother-in-law on several leagues. Barbara enjoyed playing bingo and she loved spending time at her friend's home playing Yahtzee. She collected owls, tigers and her wonderful dangling earrings. Barbara always dressed up for all the holidays every year, leaving fond memories for her family, who were the most important thing in her life.

 

She is survived by her two daughters, Monica (Jacob) Tannehill of New Buffalo, MI, Marilyn (Larry) Mrozek of Walkerton, IN; three sons, Stanislaus (Martha) Mrozek Jr. of Yuma, AZ, Mark (Theresa) Mrozek of La Porte, IN, Michael (Amanda) Mrozek of La Porte, IN; five sisters, Connie Phillips of La Porte, IN, Georgianna Lloyd of Topeka, KS, Lynda Thomas of La Porte, IN; Frances Kabowski of La Porte, IN; and Billie Kabowski of La Porte, IN; six grandchildren, Samuel, Cori, Michael, Madison, Hannah and Martin; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

 

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Sally Patrick, Cathy West and Mary Logan.

 

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Sunday, November 13 from 4-6 PM.  A Celebration of Barbara's Life will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home on Monday, November 14 at 11 AM with Pastor Mark Reshan, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Michigan City, officiating.  Interment will follow at the Patton Cemetery.
