Patricia M. Gerrich, 91, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Friday, October 7, 2022 at the Brickyard Center of La Porte.

 

She was born January 9, 1931 in Dillsboro, Indiana, the daughter of Walter and Ruth (Cooper) Justice.

 

Patricia lived most of her life in La Porte, moving to Columbus, IN from 1992 to 2015, before returning to La Porte. She was a former member of the First United Methodist Church of Columbus, IN and was a member of the Rose Rebecca Lodge of La Porte. Patricia held many jobs, including factory worker, homemaker and her last position as a cashier at Cracker Barrel. She was an avid reader, loved gardening and working with her flowers, and taking long drives with her husband exploring Indiana. She truly loved her family, her grandkids and her great-grandkids, as well as her beloved cat, Sienna.

 

On March 24, 1969 in St. Joseph, MI, she married Harold Gerrich, who preceded her in death May 27, 2004.

 

She is survived by her two sons, Harold (Cindy) Bass of La Porte, Darold (Rita) Bass of Columbus, IN; two sisters, Ruby Bliss, Judy Sabian; brother, Michael Justice; seven grandchildren, Aaron (Rose) Bass, Adam Bass, Travis Bass, Lisa Lambert, Alyson (Jim) Hornaday, Johanna (Billy) Koons, Zach Bass; nine great-grandchildren, Megan, Luke, Nathan, Norah, R.J., Russel, Cooper, Cait, Harrison and many nieces and nephews.

 

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Deborah Haney; brother, Allie Justice and a son, Gary Bass.

 

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Monday, October 17 from 9:30 am until service time at 11:30 AM.  A life celebration will be held at the funeral home with Chaplain Karyn Kost, Ascera Care Hospice, officiating.  Interment will follow at the Union Mills Cemetery, Union Mills, Indiana.
